Attachments is a Rainbow Rowell novel published before the more recent “Fangirl” and “Eleanore & Park“, and confirms the writer’s ability.

The story this time is more improbable with respect to her other books, however it keeps the reader interested after a slightly slow beginning.

Lincoln is a shy nerd (but handsome, he just does not know it) who still lives with his mother and works in the IT department at a journal with the assignment to read and flag inappropriate emails.
During his work nights he will begin read – without flagging – the mail between two other worker, Beth and Jennifer, becoming more and more fond of their communications and interested in the former of the two.

The novel has obviously a romantic background, but the most of it deals with Lincoln and him being inadequate after breaking up with his previous girlfriend and his efforts in coming back to social life.
Maybe not beautiful as other Rowell’s novel but very pleasant.
