I did not see the movie and I’m not planning to see the follow-up, but I finally decided to read the graphic novel 300 by Frank Miller that started everything.
Frank Miller style is recognizable – but I still prefer Sin City (here and here) – and in some images is clear the transposition to the movie famous ones.
The graphic novel is about the Thermopolis battle and the title reminds us how many Spartans did protect in the end that critical passage till the end of the fight.
Miller tells about Leonidas and Sparta, about brave men, corrupted ones, and other who believe to be gods, about epic fights and mostly about how heroic deeds are such only if they are remembered and told.
* 300 by Frank Miller – ★★★★☆
