“Jim Curious: A Voyage to the Heart of the Sea in 3-D” Is a visual experience, provided that the 3D glasses supplied with the book are used.
The heart of the sea does not make space for words, the main character, dressed with his diving suit, faces the mystery of the sea in silence, leaving with the reader the chance to sigh and to comment for the emotion given by the beautiful seascape or the fear for unexpected meetings.
The stereoscopic realization with anaglyphs is very well done – some pages provide a depth greater than other – and it’s the thing that puts this illustrated book above any other mute submarine story. If it’s so captivating for an adult I can only imagine how it can be for children – who will have to divide their emotion among the sea magic and the dimensional mystery (only partially spoiled by the numerous 3D head aching movies).
