Dave lives in Here, an island where everything is perfect and ordinary. In the center of Here there are offices and workplaces, moving to the island border there are the apartments, till the last row of houses built near the sea. The sea is black and horrible and it’s the only thing dividing Here from There, place where chaos and confusion reign.
The ordinary, repetitive and certain life of Dave keeps on without troubles, till the day when an unstoppable beard starts growing on Dave – perfectly hairless.
This phenomenon – chaotic and unknown – will cause extreme confusion in Here: while the govern tries to find a solution to this issue Dave will begin to accept the beard and to observe the change in Here inhabitants from his window.
It’s a very nice book for the drawings and for the message delivered by the story of Dave and his beard, element of change that is seen as Evil for the change it actually brings in the people of Here. The message (the fear of change, the aiming to the routine) is carried to the reader by means of a funny and nice story.
