[ARC] Coco and the Little Black Dress by Annemarie van Haeringen

Standard

_______

Annemarie van Haeringen tells in this children book the story of Coco Chanel, who was born poor but was able to make a revolution in the fashion design industry and to impose a new concept of elegance.

The book focuses on the most important moments that shaped Coco Chanel’s life: from simple seamstress to designer of new, simpler, caps than the ones that were in fashion, to fashion designer able to restore black dresses honor, to fashion icon.

From the book emerges the image of an independent, strong-willed woman, able to create the life she wanted, but overlooks the financiers who made her able to be independent, the fear to become poor again, the unlucky management of Chanel 5 rights.

Nevertheless this is a very interesting book with an uncommon theme choice for a graphic biography.

Thanks to the publisher for providing me the copy necessary to write this review.
