In The Incredible Unlikeliness of Being: Evolution and the Making of Us, Dr. Alice Roberts, scientist and divulgator, describes the evolution of the human embryo comparing its characterstistics with the ones of other species, and pointing out the significant traits of the human evolution.
Each chapter is focused on a specific body part (brain, superior and inferior limbs, internal organs, …) also in function of the time the specific part develops during the pregnancy period.
I liked this book and I think the book is quite interesting also for a generic public (I did not study medical science and I have only vague memories of high school biology). The nature of the thematic makes the images useful and sometimes needed to understand a specific topic; I think this theme could gather more interest in the form of a video documentary.
Thanks to the publisher for providing me the copy necessary to write this review.
