Cécile dreams about singing in every theatre of (her) world, she will found herself kidnapped and sold to the troll of the mountain as bride for their prince.
In Trollus (a prise for the creativity) Cécile found herself in an unfriendly place but she start making some friends and the same relation with Tristan – the prince – evolves from indifference to friendship to love.

The trolls are bounded to live under the mountain for a curse made by a witch: their hope was a prophecy about the curse and the marriage between Cécile and Tristan could break the spell; in the meantime Tristan is plotting a revolution against the powerful nobility.

The characters are interesting: Cécile is resourceful girl who does not wait to be saved, while Tristan is less impulsive and willful to provide the best for his people. The binding during the marriage that allows one to feel the emotion of the other one is an innovative element that maybe could be used more.
On the other hand the novel is too long: in a shorter form the events could have been more engaging and the continuous repetition of moral issues about trolls were at the end annoying (it’s good to free them? There will be more wars? Maybe yes / maybe not).

The ending is quite abrupt and leaves space for a following book, this in fact is the first of a trilogy; in the next we will go witch hunting.

Thanks to the publisher for providing me the copy necessary to write this review.
